Kim and Steve's Wedding

Hello there! I'm back with some images from Kim and Steve's wedding in Becks, Central Otago this month (not photographs of me or the barn as per my mum's request!) March has been very very busy for me so next month I'm going to catch up on blogging and also update everyone back home on my news.

When I turned up to the hotel that Kim was getting ready in the morning of the wedding, I was SO excited to see it was like a mixture of an old wooden balconied wild west hotel, and also a fancy country lodge. I could have stayed and photographed Kim getting ready all day but she did have to leave at some point to get married. Here are her wedding shoes, which says a lot about what an outgoing, happy and fun person Kim is:

Looking radient!

Kim's mum couldn't decide which shoes to wear, so she brought three pairs with her on the day. She works in a shoe shop!

Kim and her dress. I love it when brides wear something they feel fabulous in and then really make the most of it for the day - how often are you going to look this good?

So of course this was Steve's expression when he first saw his wife to be:

Kim half crying half laughing during her vows:

Married!!

The guys...

A photograph at the old sign for Steve's family's farm:

Well done to everyone who held it together for Kim's dad's speech!

The cake cutting was outside after dark, so I employed some extra lighting - here is the complicated photography lighting setup below:

Not only did they have a really relaxed, happy and beautiful country wedding, but Kim and Steve also had what I would consider a dream honeymoon. Steve set up a holiday spot for him and Kim which involved moving a hut to somewhere in the Hawkdon (sp?) range, filling it with wine and food and a coal range, building a verandah (!!) and then surprising Kim with a week's honeymoon there. Seriously. Oh, and they also MADE eachother's wedding rings, as in - buying some gold and diamonds, and making rings for eachother. And look how amazing they are!!

As you can tell, I'm more than impressed. Thank you both for being so happy and full of life all day, and to your family and wedding party for being so agreeable and welcoming. Speak soon! xx
